Carine Fabritius is a doctoral researcher at the Aalto University School of Science, Finland. Her interdisciplinary research includes human-computer interaction (HCI) and artistic research. She is interested in the human-nature and human-forest relationship, intangible heritage, virtual spaces, interaction design, sustainability in art creation, and agency in artworks.
Fabritius has exhibited her artworks in various galleries and art museums. She received her MFA from the Academy of Fine Arts of Uniarts Helsinki, Finland. Her mediums are installation art, photography, textile art, moving image, and new technologies, particularly AR.
Currently, Fabritius is conducting her PhD research and leading the Kone Foundation funded research project ‘Intangible Forest Heritage in the Interactive User-Centered Digital Art Experience’ (2026-2028), which explores human agency, non-human agency in the forest, and oral heritage through interactive technologies.
